The play revolves around the death bed of Susan B. Anthony as she is “visited” by her former younger rival, Victoria Woodhull. The play opens in 1906 and proceeds to flashback to 1871 where we see Victoria fighting for sexual equality, free love, and birth control, to be included on the platform of the Suffrage Movement. But when Victoria is thrown out of that Movement, she did what no one had ever dreamed of… she ran for President.

Act I: Norman has a Medieval literature Ph.D. He is also a sexually impotent, unemployed, unsuccessful writer. His wife, Mixie, truly loves him and believes in his talent, but because his literature contains explicit sexual passages, feels he is destined for failure. She and her lover, Ted, accidentally murder him.

Act II: Ted decides to dispose of the body in ìsmall pieces.î Norman’s agent unexpectedly appears, announcing that Norman’s just-about-to-be-released first book will be a hit. Mixie decides that since Norman has never met the agent face to face, that Ted can impersonate him and the two of them will reap the rewards. Norman’s severed head suddenly reanimates and bullies Ted into typing the last chapter of his final book. Through dictation, Norman plants the idea of impotence in Ted’s psyche. Ted destroys the head but Norman keeps returning via TV, radio, and typewriter.

Bobno and Maddie arrive in New Orleans to film the right-to-die case of Crystal Davis, who has been in a coma since she was beaten and raped twenty years earlier. Sheriff Gordon welcomes Bobno to town, but is rebuffed by Bobno.

Bobno admits to Maddie that he grew up not far from their hotel, but left when he was 15 years old and his mother died.

Crystal starts showing signs of regaining consciousness. Maddie deduces that Gordon abused Bobno; Gordon admits it but claims that he is now reformed. Maddie also suspects Gordon murdered Bobno’s mother. Gordon is discovered smothering Crystal.

Bobno admits that Gordon abused him, he finally told his mother as she was dying, but she did not believe him. He also reveals that he and Crystal made love at his house, but were discovered by Gordon, who then—in a jealous rage—beat up Bobno and raped Crystal. Crystal escaped and has been catatonic ever since. Bobno stabs Gordon, but is shot to death himself by cops chasing Gordon.

Waiting for Lazarus is a full length comedy for 8 actors (5 M, 3 F) and a simple set. The entire play takes place in the basement of the home of Nathan and Mary Morris. Nathan, the lead character, is an undertaker who is “blessed with a lot of faith”. Rather than embalming the bodies, he prays and reads from the bible, hoping for a miracle. The miracle comes, but not in the form that he expects. His dead mother comes back to life, and does not believe the miracle herself. Nathan spends much of the rest of the play trying to convince her and others (his wife, the coroner, a prostitute, the police) of this miracle, with increasingly chaotic and absurd results.

“If your body could talk, what would it say?” The Body Politic is a comedy on the theme of the body. The many pieces of this raucous exploration fit together to make one evening of entertainment. Most of the characters are parts of different people’s bodies or different parts of the same person’s body. This is an ensemble show that requires eight actors (4m, 4f) each playing multiple parts. While the show requires a simple set, imaginative costuming and choreography are a must. The play received a showcase production at manhattantheatresource in 2002, and received OOBR’s (Off-Off-Broadway Review) highest rating for writing.

Forty years earlier, after being crowned Miss Chihuahua and competing for Miss Mexico, she auditioned for an Elvis Presley film, only to be rejected by the “King” himself for the darkness of her skin. Three husbands later, Fanny has moved to a double-wide trailer in a rural location to try to make her own way. When her step-daughter, Melanie arrives from NYC to embroil her in a stock market get-rich-quick scheme involving bovine hormones, Fanny has to choose between saving herself and bailing out her step-daughter. Thanks to a pair of blue suede shoes and the intervention of an unexpected guest, neither Fanny nor Melanie has to resort to desperate measures in order to make their dreams of independence come true.

Arturo, a Spanish tutor, spends his therapy sessions exploring his sexual addiction and lamenting his inability to meet Mr. Right, until a new student comes along who appears to be the answer to his prayers. The action takes an unexpected turn when he realizes his new boyfriend is not all that he appears to be, and six degrees of separation have been reduced to one degree. In the midst of trying to identify his personal demons, Arturo realizes that happiness is more than just a dill pickle, sexuality is more than just a question of black and white, and that sex is not all it’s cracked up to be.
